Breakfast before school - made on Sam's new French crepe pan birthday present

Sam loves making crepes. Often on a Sunday morning he is the first to get out of bed (the only day he leaps out of bed). He makes up a big stack of crepes and some sort of sauce (heated up blueberries is his current “invention”). He bring it up to us on a tray along with some lemon and sugar and usually a glass of orange juice that he has squeezed himself, seeds and all. Now we just have to train him to make the cappucinos….

So when it came to birthday presents, I decided a really nice crepe pan would be nice as well as being something he could keep for the rest of his life. I had mental images of grown up Sam making crepes for his kids.  Andrew complained that all of the presents I bought this year for  Sam were rather “girly”. Ok so the L’Occitane bath stuff might have been a tad over the top but he does love to steal mine, usually emptying half a bottle per shower. I did get him some two way radios as well. He seemed pretty happy with it all.

Luckily I didn’t tell Andrew that Sam’s choice for favourite meal to be cooked on his birthday was lentil salad. He would have been convinced that I am turning his son into some girly-vegetarian-hippy!
