About
I am a mother of two lovely kids (Sam 8 and Tara 6), I live in Sydney with our dog, chooks, gold fish…and a very tolerant husband Andrew who ends up cleaning up all the mess I make in the kitchen. I have a small software company but dream of working in the food industry instead. While I would love to run a cafe, I think I would be a bit like the “soup nazi” from Seinfield…just cook whatever and whenever I felt like it. So needless to say, I am sticking with my “day job”! I love all things about food. My Indian background means that I cannot go for too many days without eating something spicy. I love exploring, cooking…and ofcourse eating… all sorts of foods. All time favourites are Italian, Spanish, Thai, Middle Eastern, Indian…
Wow it looks fantastic and I love the pictures from India……only yesterday I was talking about the wonderful Southern Indian food!
Yes I am glad I found another use for one of those photos too! Seeing that banner photo of the spice market in Goa brings back memories and makes me want to go back again…
hello! nice discovery back at you, where are you based in sydney? i really like your pictures, they look a bit dark and mysterious, beautiful x amanda
Hi Amanda, I am on the north shore in the no-good-food-zone of Sydney sadly. I frequently drive off to distant parts of Sydney in search of good food and reading your blog and restaurant reviews makes me feel like jumping into my car and searching out those places! My pictures are dark mainly because I take them at night right after cooking whatever it is and in the three seconds before it is eaten…
dear spice, i was thinking we should meet and try some place new and yummy! all my exams for summer school end on 1st feb, i have a crazy few weekends after but for food and you, i think i can make the time. shall we? x amanda
Absolutely! I will send you an email….
Dear Spice,
I’m emailing on behalf of Tropicana UK, who will shortly be launching the new ‘Tropicana Breakfast Club’ website. The aim is to offer consumers breakfast ideas and inspiration through a series of links to pages and sites, like yours, that are unique, ‘foodie’ and have a connection to breakfast. We plan to feature a full range of breakfast options, from ‘posh’ to ‘paltry’, with the end goal of creating a destination site for all things breakfast.
Spice and more is exactly the kind of site we are hoping to link to and wondered if you could confirm that it’s OK to do so.
If you could let me know either way on peter.thomas@realadventure.co.uk that would be great.
Best regards,
Pete Thomas
What an incredible blog! And the photos are absolutely mouth watering.
I can’t find your email and just wanted to know if you would like me to send you some of the chocolate letters as you ‘won’ some back in August on my blog. xx Joanna
Just sent you an email. I am sure Tara would love some chocolate letters to play with – thank you!
I found your lovely blog thanks to David Lebovitz, who made a mention on FB! And co-incidence, my 15 year old daughter is also called Tara 🙂
Hello! Gosh I am pretty honoured to get a mention on David Lebovitz’ facebook page! 🙂
We will have to compare Tara stories. I wonder if there is a “Tara” character, you know the way a certain personality type always seems to go with a particular name?!
